In responding to an SIU referral, we will adhere to the following guidelines: We will investigate each file in a timely manner. We will exhibit fairness both to the insured and to the insurance company. All inquiries will be approached in good faith and with an open mind emphasizing fairness to the insured. Our purpose is to render an expert opinion, any written responses or discussion will not be speculative. Any conjecture in the interpretation of an insured's receipts or documentation will be clearly labeled as such. Insurers World trains file handlers in the specific procedures and requirements related to handling SIU files. Any communication regarding an SIU inquiry will be logged so that documentation is comprehensive and available for future reference. We acknowledge that any material or information which comes into our possession, in conjunction with the claim, consists of confidential data which will be treated in a manner consistent with Graham Leach Bliley requirements. We will do our utmost to provide information that is factual and accurate. Our evaluation will be based on information provided to us by the insurance company and/or the insured. This service is available to: carrier claims personnel, SIU investigators, law enforcement, insurance agents and underwriters.
