Great American Bake Sale

Insurers World Philanthropy - June 2009

By the end of the year, more than 12 million children in America will worry about having the food they need. In an effort to give needy children the food and nutrition they need, Insurers World/ Home Entertainment Distributors teamed up with the Great American Bake Sale. This was a fun way to raise funds which go toward feeding children in local communities, who might not otherwise have anything to eat.

On June 11 and 12, 2009 employees participated in this great cause; some donated homemade baked goods to be sold, while others purchased the items. Several employees, who didn’t have a sweet tooth but still wanted to help out, were nice enough to donate money to the cause. All parties involved from Bakers and Buyers to those who just donated, walked away with a happy feeling, knowing they had done something good. The bake sale was held in the front lobby during lunch time on both days, and employees raised a substantial amount. Insurers World/Home Entertainment Distributors matched our earnings, and with their generosity, we were able to make a charitable donation to this great cause.
