JEM Salvage Recovery:
Insurers World offers salvage recovery services for your damaged jewelry needs. Our salvage process is easy to participate in, and is sure to maximize your insured’s return on salvage. The insured can simply drop off their salvageable jewelry at a local jeweler from our National Network for careful packaging and shipping to Insurers World. Jewelers have professional experience in handling delicate jewelry items. Therefore, we find it best to have a jeweler ship the salvageable items. The jeweler’s knowledge of shipping jewelry is also important, as they are aware of the correct shipping insurance to place on the item. However, if the jewelry is already in possession of the insurance company, a pre-addressed shipping box can be provided for shipping to Insurers World. Included in the shipment of the salvage jewelry should be the claim number, name and address of the insured, as well as the insurance company. Shipping is pre-paid and there’s no need to go to the post office! Click Here to learn more about JEM Shipping
Once the salvageable jewelry reaches Insurers World, our jewelry experts and gemologists begin the evaluation process in our gem lab. The lab is equipped with GIA instruments in order to conduct an accurate, fair, and fast salvage value on precious stones and precious metals.
If any discrepancies arise between a claim description and the actual jewelry item, the adjuster will be notified so the claim may be handled properly.
Once the evaluation is complete the item is sent to an average of three jewelers for salvage bids. After a high bidder is determined, Insurers World will receive a check from the jeweler for the accepted bid price. If not already pre-determined, Insurers World will contact the insurance adjuster to discuss which settlement option will be chosen. Further information regarding settlement options can be found in the previous chapter.
