50/50 Raffle for The Jimmy Fund

Each year, IW holds a  4th of July company meeting and BBQ where employees join together for a great afternoon.  At this year’s BBQ, held on July 1st,  IW employees were invited to participate in a 50/50 raffle.  Tickets were available at $1 each and employees could purchase as many as they’d like.  The more tickets sold – the higher the prize!  

So what were employees raffling for?  The winner would receive 50% of the cash generated, and the other 50% would go to a worthy charity.  This year, three charities were available for the winner’s choosing: The Jimmy Fund, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and the American Cancer Society.  Not only did employees participate in raising funds, but IW also donated to the raffle, making the prize even higher. 

The funds raised in this afternoon of fun was nearly $500! The lucky winner took home half, and chose The Jimmy Fund to receive the other half.  A fun day was had by all in celebration of Independence Day, and the joy of giving to a great charity topped it all off.
